Plumbing

Plumbing work involves installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other systems that distribute water and dispose of sewage in buildings. Plumbers may also install central heating systems, but they need additional qualifications to work with gas boilers. 

Plumbing work can include:

• Water service plumbing: Installing, altering, repairing, or replacing water pipes, tanks, taps, and fittings in the drinking water supply system
• Sanitary plumbing: Installing, changing, or relocating toilet bowls and sanitary piping systems to carry used water from a building to the used water system
• Maintaining plumbing fixtures: Maintaining fixtures like bathtubs and toilets
• Maintaining appliances: Maintaining appliances such as dishwashers or heating systems
